During the initial design, the home floor plan and elevations are developed and oriented to receive optimal winter solar energy. Exterior insulated, interior finished thermal mass floor and wall areas absorb and store this energy for winter day and night heating. Conversely night ventilation over the same masonry promotes summertime day and night cooling. Net results - a stable interior temperature eliminating heating and cooling costs(Zero Energy).
